This 5,200 sq. ft. ambulatory care facility was designed to fit in the triangular space between two wings of the existing hospital building and included a first floor admitting area, a pre-op and post-op holding and care area, and a nurses’ station.   The addition provides easy access to the existing below-grade surgery suite and recovery area and other hospital services. BWC utilized a composite concrete/steel design approach in order to provide the long spans required to integrate the new facility with the existing and to accommodate the sawtooth facade.
