“Adaptive
Reuse” has become a popular trend in which existing vacant
buildings can be restored and reused to the benefit of both the
public and its new owners.
The conversion of an existing Sears Auto Store into a new
mini-mall is just one example.
A local developer enlisted BWC
to design a travel agency where the tire display was once housed
and a Victorian mall within the open garage area.

Abundant natural light and 14’ ceilings create an expansive
illusion, making the mall feel much larger than it actually is.

|
The mall design included
brick paved common corridors, an interior fountain, bay windows,
shake shingles, and other features on the tenant facades to
create an old town, turn of the century theme.
