PROJECTS / RECREATIONAL FACILITIES / Weldon Springs State Park
Having fallen into a state of disrepair and suffering from pollution from a nearby waste treatment system, the Weldon Springs Observation Area was not the inviting attraction it had been for many years.  BWC developed a plan for eliminating the contamination of the natural spring and restoring the observation area for people of all ages.  Improvements included exposed aggregate walkways, timber bridge, rustic benches and refurbished spring boxes along the new spillways and channels.

Electrical service for the park office and maintenance building was evaluated and upgraded.
Also included were the design of sanitary sewers and two aerobic wastewater treatment systems:  one 500 GPD for the ranger residence and one 750 GPD for the maintenance shop.

A second project at Weldon Springs involved the design of accessible facilities to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act.  Improvements included sidewalks, campsites, fishing piers, vault toilets, rest rooms, water hydrants, playground equipment and ramps.
